Ridgely is a rural Eastern Shore town with a population of approximately 1,500 citizens. As are most towns on the Eastern Shore, Ridgely is experiencing a growth spurt. There are approxamitly 400 new homes planned for the town in the coming years.

Even with the new growth, many of Ridgely's residents have lived here all there lives. And many moved here because they loved the small town community atmosphere. The citizens of Ridgely are proud of their town, it's uniqueness, it's charm, it's friendliness.

Ridgely has a history of agricultural commerce and has become known for the Annual Strawberry Festival held at Martin Sutton Park every year the Sunday before Memorial Day. The festival has been growing every year and is a chance for Ridgely to "shine."

Many of the old Victorian homes that line Central Avenue and had been neglected are being renovated. The Planning and Zoning Commission are trying to ensure any new growth will blend with the old to keep Ridgely the quaint community that it is.
